JUULWAT NOTICES. RACES AT ASH. BURTON. ON 25 th MAY. CPEGIAIi Passenger Train (steam heated) will leave Christcliurfor Ashburton at 10.0 a.m., and will take passengers from Christchurch, Sockburn, Rolleston, Dunsandel, and Rakaia only. This train will set down at Ashburton Saleyards Siding (for Racecourse), arriving there 11.40 a.m. Speeial Train, stopping at Ashburton Saleyards Siding to pick up passengers, will leave Ashburton 4.20 p.m., Saleyards Siding 4.53 p.m., Cliristchuri. h arrive 6 t 37 p.m. This train will take passengers for Rakaia, Dunsandel, Rolleston, Sockburn, and Christchurch only. Passengers for the races from stations at which the special train does not stop will require to travel by the usual 7.25 a.m. Christchurch-Ashburton train, which will stop at Ashburton Saleyards Siding to set down passengers. These passengers may return by the usual 3.51 p.m. Ashburton-Christchurch train, which will stop to pick up passengers at Ashburton Saleyards Siding, leaving there at 3.55 p.m., or by the speeial horse train leaving Ashburton at 6.0 p.m. A special train conveying horses for the races will leave Christchurch at 7.35 a.m., and arrive Ashburton at 10.37 a.m. It will not lift horses at Rolleston nor Rakaia. Horses from Rolleston and Rakaia will require to be consigned in time for the usual 7.25 a.m. Christchurch-Ashburton train. Return horse train will leave Ashburton 8.0 p.m. for Christchurch. Car accommodation will be provided on the special horse trains for passengers travelling with horses. ASHBURTON TIMARU. Usual 4.31 p.m. train for Timaru will leave Ashburton 5.15 p.m. It will take passengers and horses for stations Winslow to Timaru inclusive. ASHBURTON-SPRING-BURN. Usual 4.25 p.m. train for Springburn will leave Ashburton 5.0 p.m. For further particulars see posters. Should the raees be postponed the special trains will NOT run. FARES, Excursion Tickets to Ashburton will be issued, from Christchurch, Springburn, Timaru, and intermediate stations on direct line of route on 25th May by trains arriving Ashburton up to Noon (except that they will not be issued for the 8.50 a.m. express from Christchurch). These tickets will be available for return until 15th June, but not available by express which will leave Ashburton 5.56 p.m. 25th May. Fareß from Christchurch to Ashburton Saleyards Siding, or Ashburton, return (including Is 6d for Course Admission) 13s 6d Ist class; 9s 6d 2nd class, available only by the 10.0 a.m. special train from Christchurch 25th May, and for return until 15th June, but not available by express whicli will leave Ashburton 5.56 p.m. on 25th May. 7934
