A moderate anti-cyclone is now passing east of Nev; Zealand. A fresh cyclone is developing in the north-west Tasinan Sea. Present are for moderate to strong south-east winds from East Gaps and Knv.hia southwards to Cook Strait, elsewhere east to north-east winds, light but freshening in tho south but strong in the northern districts; still a rough swell on the East Coast north of Kaikoura and rather rough in Cook Strait, qlsewhere smooth to moderate; moderate to strand north-east to northerly winds in the eastern Tasman Soa with moderate to rather rough seas; the

weather £ti" cloudy at places between I'astlepoint and East Cape and north of Auckland, with scattered showers, elsewhere fair to fine; cold night temperatures with some frcst. A fine week-end is indicated for districts l'rom Wellington and Taranalri southwards.
