SERVICE NOTES.

STAFF COLLEGE CHANGE. CAPTAIN GODFREY'S NEW DUTY. (TROK OCB OWS CORRKSrOKDSST.) LONDON, April 6. Captain J. H. Godfrey, who was promoted last June, has been appointed to the President for special duty before taking up, on April 15th, the post of deputy-director of the B.N. Staff College, Greenwich. Captain Godfrey entered the Service in 1902, became a lieutenant in 1908, and specialised in navigation. At the mobolisation for war, he was appointed navigating officer of the cruiser Chary - bdis, flagship of Bear-Admiral B. E. Womyss, and subsequently served with the same officer in the Euryalus. He saw active service in the Dardanelles and Eastern Mediterranean. On August Bth, 1917, he was appointed assistant to the Chief of Staff at Malta (Commodore Burmester). From December, 1919, he was war staff officer with Admiral Madden in the Atlantic Fleet, and six months later was promoted to commander. From September, 1921, he ; served in the Flans Division, Admiralty, and two years later joined the staff at the E.N. Staff College. From August, 1925, he was for three years executive officer of the New Zealand cruiser Diomede. The Bcv. H. T. Peat, of Timaru, and | the Rev. A. J. Gould, R.N.V.R., of [ Sydney, N.S.W., have been appointed officiating ministers to "Wesleyans servr ing in Jfchc Royal Navy at those ports. The King has approved of the regimental alliance of the New Zealand Army Pay Corps to the Boyal Army Pay Corps. Group Captain F. K. Haskins, D.S.C., has been appointed to B.A.F. Depot, Uxbridge, Supernumerary (February 25th), and to Station headquarters, Worthy Down, pending taking over command (April 4th). The following New Zealand pilot officers hare been posted to No. 1 Flying Training School, Netheravon, with effect from March 10th: L. E. Jarman, G. N. Roberts, and D. W. Smythe. Arrangements have also been made with the War Office for Lieutenant G. G. Talbot, an officer of the New Zealand Medical Corps (territorial) to be attached to units of the Royal Army Medical Corps during annual training.
