TRAMS TO BREEZE'S ROAD.

BURGESSES' REQUEST DECLINED The Aranui Burgesses' Association has requested the Christchnrch Tramway Board that the Breeze's road stopping place should be made a compulsory stop on all trips, but the Board s Works and Traffic Committee contends that the effect would be that the "limited" stop trips to and from Nev Brighton would have an additional stop to make, which would increase the running time and in some cases might overcrowd the cars unduly. The committee reported to yesterday's Board meeting that it did not think that a larger number of passengers from New Brighton should be put to the possible inconvenience. It considered also that the existing service for Breeze's road residents was adequate, and it could not agree that the intersection was more dangerous than any other intersections throughout the system over which cars passed without stopping. The report was adopted.
