PUBLIC LIBRARY.
READING ROOM REOPENED. The Canterbury Public Library, which has been undergoing repairs ckiring the last week, will be open again to the public to-day. The floor has been relaid and will be covered with a cork carpet to minimise sound. There has been some delay in the shipment of part of the carpet so that this will have to be laid later. The position of the stands has been altered so that they may get the best light available. Christchurch papers will now be on the stands under the north windows of the library.
