The following is the result of the latest series of cricket fixtures: — Playing against the South Africans, at Worcester, Worcestershire were all out in the first innings for 284 (Fox 88), Quinn taking six wickets for 75. Worcestershire followed on, and lost seven wickets for 262 (Fox 58, Wright 50, Tarbox not out 50). The match was drawn. In the match between M.C.C. and Surrey, at Lord's, Marylebone in the first innings made 227, Shepherd taking five wickets for 36. and in the second scored 216 (Crawley 71), Shepher taking four for 55. Surrey's first innings realised 245 (Sandham 99) Jupp taking five wickets for 64, and in the second innings reached only 142 Jupp taking five wickets for 63, and Pickthall four for 30. Marylebone won by 56 runs. Playing against Cambridge University, at Cambridge, Yorkshire in the first innings made 420 (Oldroyd 111, Mitchell 85, Barber 74). Blundell (of Wellington, New Zealand) took six wickets for 99 runs. In the first innings Cambridge University made 211, ana following on lost seven wickets for 425 (Block 90, Grant 88, Turnbull not out 167). The match was drawn. At Nottingham, in a friendly match against EBsex, Notts made 288 in the first innings (Whysall not out 111), Nichols taking five wickets for 61, and in the second innings declared when eight wickets had fallen for 250 runs (Walker 101). Essex, in the first innings, made 183, Larwood taking four for 27, and in the second 213 (Nichols 88). Nottinghamshire won by 92 runs. —Australian Press Association, United Service.

The Australian Board of Cricket Control has decided that the Australian team to take part in the 1930 tour of England should consist of fifteen players, with a manager and treasurer. The allowance for each man will be £6OO. Each player will be required to enter into » covenant not to return to England to play cricket for at least two years after the 1930 tour. The Board resolved to grant an additional £lO to each player in the recent Test matches in Australia, owing to their inordinate length.—Australian Press Association.
