IRENE RICH AND CONWAY TEARLE. I IN RUSSIAN ROMANCE. LIBERTY THEATRE, TO-DAY. Theatre-goers will remember "My Official , Wife" as a stage play, based on that very j favourite theme, Czarist Russia followed by | Soviet Russia. One cannot cavil at the choice of such a theme, for it. offers a wide variety for types, setting, and plenty of romantic adventure. Now that the screen has utilised "My Official Wife," the picture will be screened at .Liberty Theatre this week. Irene Rich and Conway Xearle play the leads, Miss Rich that of the Countess Oiioff, Tearle, that of the Grand Duke Alexander. The Grand Duke Alexander, meeting the Countess Orloff on her way to a masquerade, leads the lady into indiscretions. To shieid h;s son, the eider Duke orders the Countess to Siberia as a Nihilist War and revolution come to Russia, but only vengeance is in the heart of the Lady OrloS, who later meets Alexander, tells him her story, both of them unknown to each other, and re-enters Russia as the official wife of the Grand Duke. From then on the picture becomes very dramatic. Ken Maynard in "The Phantom City" is the second attraction. A haunted mine, a deserted city, a girl and two villains, with only Maynard and his trusty steed against them, form the basis of this very exciting story. Mr Ernest Jamieson conducts the Concert Orchestra in the following musical numbers: Overture, "Third Symphony" (Beethoven); "Semiramide" (Rossini), "Songs Without Words" (Mendelssohn), "The Black Domjno" (Auber), "The Fourth Generation" (Lachner), 'Love's Old Sweet Song" (Molloy), "Gems From Wagner" (Urbach), 'The. Merry Widow" (Lehar), "The Blue Danube Waltzes" (Strauss), 'Ruy Bias" (Mendelssohn), "Slavonic Dance" (Dvorak). The boi plans are at The Bristol Piano Company, where seats may be reserved. ;
