FUTURE RELATIONS. QUESTIONS IN THE HOUSE. (BRITISH OJTXCIM. WIRELESS.) (Received February 14th, 7.10 p.m.) RUGBY, February J4. Replying to questions in the House of Commons, Sir Au3ten Chamberlain, Foreign Secretary, said he had no official information that the new Vatican State intended to apply for membership of the League of Nations, and it would be quite premature to state the attitude of the British Government to an event which was so absolutely hypothetical. He did not think he could pledge the Government not to take such action as it thought proper as a member oi the League Sir Austen Chamoerlain was asktd if it had not been made clear that the Pope was not seeking anv :is>sociati( n with the League. He replied that he unaeMoood tins was so. and added that he was unable to sav whether the Treaty between the Pope' and the King of Italy wor.ld necessitate any changes in the d'olo- - relations between tnis country and the Vatican.
