THE COMPETITIONS.
The ijllsbus of the Christcburch Competitions Society's annual festival, to be held in May, contains several attractive additions, amongst which are a sixteen-voice choir contest, a class for male voice choir, also one for a juvenile operetta. The elocution section has had two new scholarships added to it. In addition to the fancy dancing, a section has been provided for Highland and national dancing, by permission of the Dancing and Pipers Association of New Zealand. The judges appointed are: Br. O. A. Janaan (Launceaton), music; Mr W. Russell-Wood (Auckland), elocution; Miss Owen Gibbs (Palraerstou Korth), fancy dancing; and Mr D. H. Bothwell (Maaterton), national dancing The syllabus, which ia issued free, provide* for 200 clashes iu ail sections.
