NEW SAVINGS BANK. The Prune Minister of the New South Wales Government the other day opened the new Government Savings Bank. The building cost £1,500,000. It is claimed to be the most imposing structure devoted to the banking business in the Southern Hemisphere. The Government Savings Bank was opened 60 years ago with IS depositors. To-day it is the second largest savings bank in the British Empire. In 1914 the deposits were to-day they are £70,000,000. The average year]; rate of increase was £1,250,000.
