From a small wooden building there have grown, dufing the past sixty years, tho fine schools which now constitute the Ferry road Convent, and to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee, a social gathering will be held in tfc# grounds at 3 o'clock to-morrow (Sunday) afternoon. The Ferry road Convent is .the first Catholic Girls' School established in Christchurch by the Sisters of the Mission, and to-day it embraces two large parish schools, at the rear of the Cathedral—primary, secondary and boarding schools. From this have sprung the other schools of the same Order, established in Canterbury and throughout New Zealand. At to-morrow's gathering his Lordship Bishop Brodie will preside, and give an address, and representatives of the clergy and the laity will also speak. There will be a musical programme and the Sisters will entertain the guests at afternoon tea.
