THEFT OF SCRAP METAL.
(FB.ESS ASSOCUnOK CTbTO&UC.).WELLINGTON, November 28. The theft' of sl4lb of scrap braes and 1451b of copper wire was admitted ia Court to-day by William John Tonkin, a greaser, aged thirty, who wat employed by the City Council. It was stated that Tonkin bad been employed at the electric power station and had sold a considerable Quantity of copper wire and brass to dealers. Wire to the value of £2 os6d had been recovered. Metal valued at £2 18s 9d had not been recovered. , Counsel said that the wire and Draw was discarded and was lying arcana admitted Tonkin to probation, .-
