The Press Wednesday, November 14, 1928. The Duty to Vote.

The percentage of electors who cast their votes at Parliamentary elections is higher in New Zealand than in most countries, but there is nearly always 10 per cent, or so of missing voters. The vast majority of electors are in no need of any reminder that they must record their votes, but the small ! minority of forgetful people must be kept in mind. The Socialist vote will be full and strong to-day, and the necessity that all the opponents of the Eeds shall make their opinions effective at the ballot-box is therefore urgent. It is made more than usually urgent by the last-hour declaration by the Leader of the United Party that his Party will act in conjunction with the Labour Party. The wise elector is he who will make his visit to the polling booth one of his first engagements of the day.
