The .King Edgar is expected to-day from Dunodih. Sho is u motor-ship, and lint, cargo from Tampico for discharge. The Wairau arrived last evening from Blenheim. She loads for Blenheim. Tho Progress loads here this morning for Wellington, New Plymouth, and Waikuto. The Calm was an expected, arrival ' last night from, the north. She is to sail at midday to-day for Bluff, Dunedin, and Timuru, and should be back on Sunday to load for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Tho Kennedy is expected to-night from Foxton. She loads to-morrow for that port direct. The Waipiata is an expected arrival hero to-day from Timaru. She loads for Auckland, for which port she. is to sail to-morrow, via Wellington. The Karetu should arrive to-day from Newcastle and Sydney, via Dunediu. Slio may get away to-morrow for Oamaru and Bluff. Tho Manuka' is expected to-morrow from Melbourne, via Bluff and Dunedin. She is to sail in the afternoon for Melbourne, via Wellington.. The Golden Bear is 'o leave Nelson at ten o'clock to-hight for Lyttelton, and is due hers early on Friday morning. News has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that tho Westmoreland arrived at Panama last Tuesday from Auckland, and' sailed again on Wednesday for London. The Waipahi, from Suva, was due at Auckland yesterday. The Makura, from Sydney, via Wellington, left Rarotonga on Saturday, and was due at Papeete on Monday. She was to sail yostorday for San Francisco, where she is duo on November 23rd. Tho Maunganui, from San Francißco, left Papeete on Saturday, and was due at Rarotouga yesterday. She was to sail yesterday for Wellington and Sydney. She is duo at Wellington on November 19th and at Sydney on November 24th. , The recent completion by tho Norwegianowned motor-ship Bianca, built by the Golawerken of Gothenburg, of a round-the-world voyage without stopping her engines, recalls the fact that the motor-ship Siljestad, built by Messrs Burmeistef and Wain for Klaveness f.nd Co., of Oslo, last year, has already made two such voyages (states the Shipping World"). On September 30th, 1927, after completing successful trials,, the oiljestad left Messrs Burmeister and Wain s yard at Copenhagen, and proceeded via Antwerp to the Mexican Gulf. She then passed through tho Panama Canal via San reuro to Japan, and after visiting Shanghai and Vladivostok, returned via tho Dutch baseIndies to Aarhus, in Denmark. lha last part of tho voyage, namely from tho Indies to Aarhus, occupied 38 days, but tho whole round-the-world trip occupied close upoir six months, during which period the engines wero not stopped on a single occasion.

THE KAURI SAILS

The Kauri, recently sold by the Union. Steam Ship Co. to Eastern buyers, and renamed Minnie Moller, put out into the stream early yesterday afternoon to test her compasses, and sailed later for Port Chalmers, where she will dock for cleaning and painting. The vessel will later proceed to Westporb for bunkers, and will then Bail for Singapore.
