CHRISTCHURCH STOCK EXCHANGE.

There was a> good turnover of fctocka on call yesterday and markets were firm. Quotations for Government issues showed no change. Breweries stocks and bonds were stronger with buyers of the former at 24b Td and of the latter at 24s Bd, no sellers offering. .In bank shares, Australian Bank of Commerce appeared easier with sellers at 333 sd, buyers at 33s 3d. On the morning call, Commercial Dank of Australia shares \> ere reelased at 30s 3d and business was later reported at 3Cs 2d, market closing 30s 2d buyers, 30s 8d sellers. Commercial Bank of Sydney shares weakened to £27 Ss, closing quotations £27 2s 6d buyers, £27 10s sellers. Quotations for National Bank of Australasia shares showed a weakening tendency. Buyers of. National Bank of New Zealand shares moved up to £7 2s 6d, sellers' at £7 34 6d. Bank of New Zealand shares had dealings at 61s 5d and more were wanted at that price, sellers at 61s 6d. Amongst the miscelleanous stocks, Golaabrpugh Morts firmed to 51s 9d, market closing 51s 8d buyers, 51s lid sellers. United Building Society Bhares were fractionally firmer on buyers' offers 15s id, sellers at 15s 6d. New Zealand Refrigerating Co. partly paid shares were firmer with deal? ings at 9s 4d and 9s sd, and further buyers at 9s"td, sellers at 9s sd. Westport Coal Company shares cum dividend were released at 31s 6d, and there were further sellers at that figure, buyers at 31b 3d. Christchurch Gas shares had improved demand at 25s Bd, but sellers wanted 25s lid. New Zealand Breweries shares changed hands on the morning call <tt 58s 6d, but weakened to 68s on the afternoon call, find more were offered at 58s, buyers at 5Vs 6d. Buyers of Staples Brewery shares advanced their bids to 41b 6d, sellers at 425; £6l was', given for a parcel of Colonial Sugar shares Electrolytic Zinc preference shares Bold at 35s 2d, buyers staying in at that price, sollers asking 35a 4d. Victoria Kyanza Sugar shares changed hands at 455, closing quotes 6d on either side.. Waihi Gold Mining Company shares wore stronger with buyer at 13s 9d, sellers at lis. Mt.
