ROYAL MAIL STEAMERS.

The Union Company's Pacific mail steamer Tahiti, which has been undergoing extensivo overhaul at Wellington during the past few months, will sail from there on Friday, November 23rd, for Sydney. She will leave Sydney on November 29th for San Francisco, via Wellington, Rarotonga, and Papeete. While the Tahiti has been off the transPacific run she has been replaced by the Maunganui, which is at present on route from San Francisco to Sydney. She is duo in Australia on November 24th, and will resume her running in the intercolonial service, sailing from Sydney on November 30th for Auckland. The Marama will leave Sydney on the same day for Wellington. The Maheno, which has been relieving the Maungranui, will withdraw from the inter* colonial service on her arrival at "Wellington on November 20th. She will then be laid up, and will remain at Wellington for an indefinite period. MAMARI SOLD. (press association telegram.) AUCKLAND, November 8. The Bteamer Mamari has been sold to Arnold Bernstein, of Hamburg, for £23,500. She will be converted into a motor carrier. STEAMER KAURI FOR THE EAST. About forty Chinese, with a number of white officers, arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning by the Wahine to take the steamer Kauri to the East. The Kauri has been lying idle at Lyttelton for the past 15 months, and was purchased some months ago by Messrs Holler and Co., of Singapore. She is expected to sail on Tuesday for Port Chalmers, where she will be docked for cleaning and painting. Later the Kauri will go to Westport for bunkers, thence to Singapore direct. Captain Benz Is in command, and his chief officer Is Mr Oordy.

She will sail the same day, taking cargo for Wellington, New Plymouth, and Waikato, via Lyttelton. The Breeze is expected from Dunedin on Tuesday to diueliarge and load general cargo before sailing for Wellington and Wanganui, via Lyttelton.
