SIR HENRY MAYBURY.
RETIRING SHORTLY, (BftIMSH omouii WIBBLXSI.) (Received November Bth, 7.30 p.m.) RUGBY, November 7; Brigadier-General Sir Henry Maybury, Director-General of Roads at the Ministry of Transport, who has been described by Sir Eric Geddes a& the "finest roadmaker in the world," has tendered his resignation and will "leave the Civil. "Service at the end of the year. The services of Sir Henry, who is already past the official age will be retained in a consultative and advisory capacity with Regard to roads and bridges. Since the war he haß been responsible for the reorganisation of the English road system, and under his direction over 200 allies of new arterial toadways have been constructed in the London area alone- His organising ability has also beett the means of coordinating the Work of 2000 local authorities.
