Three children were pushing sticks into a barrel of tar standing open by the side of a road at Hastings, England, when a woman spoke to them. "We are finding Dicky," said one of the children. The woman called a wort man, who dipping a shovel into the tar, fished up a three-year-old boy, almost smothered. A doctor was called, and the boy was taken to hospital, where he rapidly recovered.
