Developments which will result from tho purchase of the Australian Commonwealth Line of steamers are revealed by Mr Basil Sanderson, who is visiting Australia as the representative of the White Star group of shipping companies (states the "Sydney Herald"). It is explained that the White Star Line, Ltd., a holding company, lias now the sole interest in the Aberdeen .the Oceanic Steam Navigation Co., Ltd. (Whito Star), the Shaw, Savill, and Albion company, and the Aberdeen and Commonwealth Line. Mr Sanderson points out in a statement that the associated interests have more than forty modern vessels, cargo and passengers, upon which they can call for service between Australia,- United Kingdom, and Continental ports. Outwards from London they will utilise the "Bay" and "Dale" vessels, supplemented by fast, recently-built motor-ships. By this means the service will j>e expanded to maintain a regular fortnightly schedule, instead of the previous eighteen sailings-a year. The motor-ships referred to are the Coptic, Zealandic, Karamea, and iaranaki. This fortnightly service will ba conducted by the Aberdeen and Commonwealth Line.
