NEW OPERA HOUSE.
It ■would appear that Mike Connors and Queenie Paul kept all the star "turns" in the repertoire of the "League of Notions" jievue Company until this week's programme, which brings to an end the present Christchurch season of the company. Certain it is that no more sparkling faro has been featured by the company during its stay in Christchurch. In a. "League of Notions" programme, however, not one second is lost. Almost before the applause at the end of an item has reached its maximum, the succeeding turn is well under way, hence it is possible for the company to present considerably more numbers than are usually found on a vaudeville or revue programme. No fewer than eight comedy, sketches are presented this week, if one includes an extremely clever piece of burlesque, in which Syd Beck is seen, and very much heard, as the drummer, etc., of Linn Smith's Jazz Band, with Ernie Paulasto as a very virile conductor. The other sketches this week, each of them highly diverting, are as follow:—"Supporting A Lady," "Oh, I Am Happy," "Wandering Wives'" "Co-operative Stores" (a musical medley), "Bullets, Bullet?, Bullets," "Keep to the Right,"'and "True Love Never Runs Smooth."
