THE MOTOR REGULATIONS.
TO THE EDITOB OS THE PRESS, Sir, —Although these regulations have now been in force for some months, it is astonishing to fipd so many motorists who deliberately abuse them. Thore can be no excuse for ignorance, as I understand that a driver's test now embodies knowledge of these regulations. I feel sure that all decent motorists study ordinary courtesy of the road apart from the regulations; others will now have to comply with the rules of the road as laid down in Regulation No. 11; but the question arises—Who is to prosecute the offenders? Regulation No. 19 (2), reads: "Every person who commits a breach of these regulations shall be liable for every such breach a fine not exceeding £50"; and during a recent run to Timaru, these regulations were broken again and again by motorists. One takes the number of a motorvehicle, and that's as far as ono can get; surely there must be some method of bringing the culprits to book. I hope all members of Automobile Associations will not only endeavour to abide by the regulations, but see that others do, as I feel sure that these regulations, if properly observed, must prevent accidents. —Youra, etc., • JUSTICE. Christchureh, October 25th, 1925.
