CHRISTCHURCH DOG PUTS UP RECORD. j (special to the press.) I . PALMERSTON NORTH, October 22. At Palmerston North to-day, the Manawatu Whippet Racing Club held its Labour Day Meeting. The track was in flrat-class condition and then* was a good crowd to witness the racing, which throughout wsb keen and, exciting. Interest was added to the contests by tho fact that a number ot from the South Island were engaged in tho various events. An outstanding performance was registered by Mrs J. R D._ Johns sJWynaway (late Jazz Girl), who in the Pupp? Challenge Race , ran 200 yds in 12see, a New Zealand record for : the distance. The other Ohristchurch dogs wore fairly successful m their races, but Mr A - p j lilll P s ,', t s 0 _ North owner-trainer, had a field day with Misd Ransom, who scored three firsts and one secolid in finals.
