LAKE LYNDON ROAD.
TO THS BUTOR O* THE PBMS. Sir—l understand on good authority that- it is.proposed to reopen the road between Lake Coleridge and Lake Lyndon. Both lakes already have access by good metal roads, and this road fils no useful purpose and has been allowed to fall into disrepair. If P"t m order, this road would be purely . a >uxury read for the benefit of picnic part es etc., who already have access. Woul it not be better, in view of th®, present heavy taxation, if unproductive and expensive works of this kind were no entered into? One naturally dislikes destructive criticism, but if ™is is an indication of the policy of the Public Works Department, is it not time that the purse-strings were drawn a litwe tighter?
