CRIME ABROAD.

BANDITS AND MOORS. ' CINEMA OUTRIVALLED, (UNITED PBESS ASSOCIATION—BY KJCCT2UO TELEGBAPH—COPTBIQHT.) (Received October 22nd, 5.15 p.m.) LONDON, October 22. Scenes rivalling the movies were enacted in Germany and Morocco during the week-end. The first occurred at Cologne. Three desperate bank robbers defied capture by the police, who surrounded a house from which two suspects emerged. They were ordered to put up their hands, but instead they fatally shot one constable with a revolver and wounded / another. Reinforcements Captured the pair, who were placed in a motor-car, from which they escaped. Though wounded, the men kept up a running fight and shot dead a motorist who refused to give them a lift. They took the car and eluded motors and motor-cycles which were carrying police. The third suspect meanwhile exchanged shots from the house, but surrendered to superior forces. The other affair occurred near Casablanca, when two merchants named Pomares and Jubiaga tried to outdistance four mounted Moorish bandits, whose rifle shots pierced the petrol tank and stopped _ their car. Deciding that three prisoners were over many, the Moors shot the chauffeur in cold blood. They made the merchants double bank on a pony. A French official named Rossier pursued them in an armoured car, but the Moors, by deadly fire from scrub killed Rossier. While the figlit was at its height, Pomares crawled to the rescuers. The Moors escaped with Jubiaga, together with the loot.
