A deep depression is covering the, New Zealand area, and another equally deep one, situated over .eastern Australia, is advancing on' to the Tasman Sea. Present indications are for moderate to strong winds between south-west and west, later veering .to northerly arid increasing to gale force in many places; seas rough on the west coast . and rising elsewhere in New Zealand waters; moderate to strong southwest windß, veering tO north-west and increasing to gales' in' the eastern Tasman Sea,, with' rough seas; the weather unsettled and showery in districts with a westerly aspect; elsewhere fair at first but soon becoming generally unsettled, with rain' developing in most parts, and some heavy falls>■ thunder probable in places; warm temperatures.
