SIR DUDLEY DE CHAIR AT AUCKLAND. ' [THE PBESS Special Service.]. . AUCKLAND,. August 27. ■■ On Ms way. home to England to attond- to' urgent private matters, Sir Dudley de Chair, K-CB!,' M.V.0., Governor of New South Wales, was a pas-< senger from Sydney by the Niagara. He will be accompanied by his wife and daughter as far as Suva. Sir Dudley will.travel across Canada,, and will embark' at Quebec for England: He will return by way of Panama, and will join his wife "and daughter in New Zealand.: Lady de Chair and Miss de Chair,' who are accompanied by Miss Shirley Bavin, who recently, toured the Do-, minion with ber father, Mr T. R. Bavin, Premier of New South Wales, will be :j the guests of the Governor of Fiji'for; a time, and will subsequently make , a tour of "the Islands. They will then; proceed to .Honolulu, where they will stay about a month, returning, to. the Dominion about the middle of December to join Sir Dudley. , v"I have not visited the Dominion, but I am greatly looking forward to the tour on my return," stated Sir Dndley do Chair. "I'hope to.make a trip to Milford Sound." Sir Dudley's popularity in Sydney was demonstrated when he left by the Niagara. • He is an enthusiastic yachtsman, and hundreds'of craft surrounded the Niagara as she steamed out of Port Jackson. It was a 'fitting tribute to a sailor .Governor.
