OBITUARY.
MR JOHN BORGFELDT. Mr John BorgfeWt, who died at hi* residence, 186 Aikman's road, Meiivale, after a brief illness, was bora at Papanui in 1864. He was the eldest son of the late John Borgfeldt He farmed successfully at Marshland on his father's farm and later at Greney's road, Amberleyi. After eleven years at Amber ley, he sold out, and lived in retirement for fourteen years, sinrf which were spent in Bangiora. Being of aa unassuming, kind, and cheerful disposition he made' many friends. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church for the past eight years. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon at the Papanui Churchyard, and was largely attended. The semes at the house was conducted by the Bar. Dr. Erwin and the Bev. T. W. Armour, and at the graveside by the Bev. Mr Orbell and the Bev. T. W. Armour. Messrs G. Moor, B. Dawson, E. Moor, G. Pow, C, Smith, and H. Griffiths acted as pall-bearers. Wreaths were sent by the following: Mother, Alan, and Byd, George and Polly, Tom and Anne, Earn and Bats, George and Soph, Eric and Iris, Tod and Ivy, Aubrey and Avis, Mr and M» C, Smith, Mr V. Esselborn, Tom Smith, Mr W. F. Fairclougb, Mrs James Taylor, Mr and Mrs G. Pow and girls, staff of Vacuum Oil Co., Mr and Mrs W. Blackett and Keith, Mr Leicester Matson and sons, Mr John Pow, Mr A. Bandman, Mr and Mrs DonlH, office staff of N.Z. Farmers' Co-op., Mortloek family, Miss M. and L. Higham, Mr A. MeiMtuus, Miss J. Banks, Mr HHott McDonald (Granity), Mr and Mrs T. Tyson, Mrs J. Witham, A l ** * ow * J* B * M Thorn*, snd-M. Griffiths and Hawy. The late Mr Borgfeldt leaves a widow and twtf sons, A*an and Sydney, to mourn their loss.
