NEW OPERA HOUSE.
Those who are looking for a good evening's entertainment during the present week wiil find their requirements amply catered for' at the New Opera House, where George Wajd and his Snapshots Bevuc Company are providing a highly attractive programme. Two newcomers to Christchurch are featured in this week's programme^ —Al. Maurice and "Alme Valdor. The former is a diminutivp comedian who has no difficulty in playing upon the risible faculties of the audience, and his partner is ah excellent singer of'"popular.'''songs' and-'a very skjlfui and artistic dancpr Maurice and Valdor, as they are styled in tho' programme,. are o decided acquisition to the company and materially strengthen i^. The programme this wce.fe. is »n alltvaudevillb one, but is none the loss entertaining on account of this. As usual, George Ward plavs the most prominent part in the performance, and this week he is funnier than ever. (ius ' Dawson, assisted by tho Snapshot Six, sings attractively the jazz number, "Steppin" Fool," • and Harry Abdy is admirably suited in ilia offering "Wonderful Dreams." Kathleen Ward and Charles, with .the aid of two, grand piariosi present a very attractive musical sketch, and the latter is also associated with George Ward and Al. Maurice in a clever coined; tketob, "The Art of Masic." Ado|e| interest is lent to the perfcrmajiGe by an eccentric Yale Blues, danced by Air Byril Poulton,. ' .-
