Referee" will be found an interesting and informative story of a visit to the stable of George New, who headed the list'of winning trainers for the season just ended. Other features include the last instalment, of P. E. Baldwin's reminiscences of Advance, the "black demon," and a review of the rst .day's racing at Eiccarton by the "Referee's" special representative. In the light harness section is reviewed in detail the opening of the Metropolitan Trotting Club's August Meeting, which provided some sensational sport. The review is generously illustrated.
