MANGAHAO UNABLE TO SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS.

[THE FBBSS Special Service.] WELLINGTON, August IS, For the, past three weeks, the Wellington Corporation plant has had to assist Mangahao to carry the electrical load of, Wellington province. The Morris at Mangahao are uncomfortably low, and the demand for power from Mangahao has been phenomenal. During the day the call upon the City plants has run as high as 11,000 kilowatts, all power generated over and above the city's requirements being fed back to the Government's customers During the slack hours _of the night the steam plants, carrying the whole of the Government and local loads, have been averaging round about 9000 kilowatts. Wellingtons power output per day has run up to 230,000 units and over v Heavy ram alone will ease the position.
