CANVASSER'S LAPSE.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) GISBORNE, August 13. William Henry Danvers, aged twenty-two, who pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court to three charges of theft by misappropriation, was admitted to probation for twelve months. Accused was employed as a book canvasser by a Dunedin firm, and amounts which were not accounted for were received in Woodville, Cambridge, and Matamata.
