GAVE SEVEN FALSE FIRE alarms. For some time past the number of malicious fire alarms baa been unusually heavy and the Brigade has been trying to catch the offenders. On Saturday night an officer of the Brigade caught I one, William Hull, in the act of giving a false alarm at the corner of Wilson's road and Leicester street. This and six other charges of a similar nature were preferred against him in the Magistrate's Court yesterday, when Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., fined him £2O in all for his foolish pranks, and told him he was lucky to escape gao . Mr A. W. Smithson appeared for Hull, who pleaded guilty. Sub-Inspector Fitzpatrick spoke _ o* th-danger arising from such malicious alarms. Accused was twenty-seven nf a£re yot ho was making a hooligan of himself.
