WINTER SHOW.
SECOND DAY. another large attendance. Yesterday, the second day of the Winter Show, attracted another large attendance, including about 2000 school children from the Addington, Cliristchurch East, Christchurch West, Riccarton, Aranui, and Waltliam Schools, who showed an intelligent interest m the exhibits. The children were given a welcome by Mr E. H. Marriner, organiser, who told them that they had been invited for two purposes—first, that they might learn what their province could produce; and second, that they might enjoy themselves. The children were the future exhibitors of the Show,: therefore he urged them all to learn as much as they could from the products of the farm and the city. New Zealand coukl not go ahead unless the town and country interests were united and it was with tins end in view that the Show was being held. Future visits to the Show will be made by school children as follows: To-day—Wharenui, Woolston, Someriield, Linwood, North Brighton, lieckenham, and Elmwood; to-morrow— Addington, Fendalton, Richmond, Shirley, Sydenham, Beckenham, Christchurch' West, Bromley, and Burwood; Thursday—Linwood, Papanui, St. Albans, Sumner, Sprevdon, and Sydenham; Friday—Spreyaon West, Phillipstown, Shirley, Cashmere, Qpawa, and Waimairi. Yesterday afternoon a. musical, programme was provided by Home Recreations " Ltd., and relieving items were given by. Willyams's Orchestra and Miss HammersleyV dancing pupils. To suit the .convenience of visitors it has been decided that the Show will open at 9.30 a.m. daily instead of 10 a.m.
District Bays. The judging of the district bays was concluded yesterday, the first prize being awarded to Ashburton, North Cam terbury being second, Banks Peninsula third, and Mid-Canterbury fourth.
