WEDDINGS.
PRICE-JURY. - A pretty -wedding was quietly ceieCrated recently at- St. Bartholomew s Church, Kaiapoi, when Hannah May, third daughter' of' Mr- and Mrs Jury, "Riverview," Kaiapoi, was married to Harrv Claude, fourth son of Mr and Mrs Price, Peraki street, Kaiapoi. The bride, who was given away by her ' father, wore a simple long-*leeved frock of white' crepe de chine trimmed with orange blossom. Her • hand-em-broidered veil was held .in ~place by a coronet wi,tli touches of silver and. orange blossom, and she' carried a shower bouquet of spring flowers and maidenhair j fern. _ _ The bridesmaid, Miss Rita Jeffreys, of Wellington, wore a sleeveless French model fr6ck ot cyclamen crepe de chine with hat of slightly deeper,shadp.. Her bouquet was of cyclamen-tinted daisies and maidenhair fern. ~ , " Mr Dave Price his brother as best man. ' i . . After the ceremony a reception was held at Blackwell's tea-rooms where Mrs Jury received the guests wearing a frock of rosewood repp and a black hat. The bridegroom's mother wore a wine-coloured frock and.black hat. Later, when the happy couple left by'motor, the bride was wearing a SSnart; frock of cherry repp with touches of grey, a tailored coat of Panama ; violet repp, and grey hat and fur.
ROSE—GRANT. Knox Churoh, Waimate, was reoently thd scene of a pretty wedding, quietly celebrated," when Edna Muriel, . only daughter of Mr and. Mrs P. -Grant,, of Waimate, was married to Cyril Francis, elder son of Mr and Mrs F. F. Rose, of Ashburton.. • The service, which was choral, .was conducted by th& Rev. W. Pi Nicol, and Miss Cameron,- L.T.C.L., L.A.8., presided at the organ. ■ • The bride, who . was given away by her father, wore a' frock of-ivory crepe de chine, made with a long bodice, and 6kirt with an inset panel of silver , lace. Her exquisitely hand-em-broidered veil -was held in plaoe by a bandeau. of orange blossom, with clusters on each side, and she carried a bouquet of winter roses and maidenhair fern.
. Miss Myra -Menziea attended as bridesmaid, and wore a frock of apricot crepe chine, and hat to tone with her frock, and carried a Victorian posy of primroses and variegated leaves. ' ■ • ■
' The bridegroom was attended by Mr W. Richards, of Hook, as best man.
•After ithe ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, at which the' usual toasts were .honoured, and many congratulatory telegrams were received. The guests were received by the bride's mother, who wore a navy embroidered frock, and a navy hat, and carried a posy ■of spring' flowers. The bridegroom's mother wore-a frock of navy blue repp, with hat to match, and carried a posy of violets. Later in the afternoon the happy couple left-■ for. the north,, the bride wearing a smart blue and grey threepieco suit, with,hat and coat to tone. Their future home will be at Hook.
