PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION «BUXTON'S CORNER RESERVE. At the regular monthly "meeting of the Burwood Progressive Association there was" an attendance of twenty-six members, over whom Mr J. Liggins presided. The sub-committee set up to interview the Drainage Board with referr ence to the flooding of the Avon reported chat, it had met Messrs H. J. Otley and li. G. Livingstone, who had given a very satisfactory report of the work done by the river-sweeper. The sub-committee was quite satisfied that no further trouble would occur when the present work was completed. The Chief Postmaster wrote regretting that >at present a second delivery to Buxton's corner could not be considered. Mr Ecroyd reported on the meeting held at North Brighton to discuss tramway matters. He said that if the Nori;h Beach tram was to be reinstated it would be necessary to gain the support of outlying districts, and he moved that the St Albans and Richmond Burgesses' Associations be asked to co-operate in the movement, 'suggesting that Messrs J Burnett and R. K.. Todhunter wait on these Associations at an early date. This was approved. . Mr Liggins reported that a scheme at present; before' the City Council would provide for Buxton's Reserve being cut. up into building sites. It was decided to support- the Council tn any further work carried out. It was decided to suggest to the City Council that the new park be called Burwood Park. The collectors on behalf of the park improvement fund reported having raised £62 2s 6d. ■ It was decided to pay the amount to the City Treasurer, and to forward a letter asking that this amount, together with the Waimairi County Council's donation or £SO, be expended this season.
