GREEN AND GOLD BALL.
The annual Green and Gold Ball is always one of the most successful dances of the year, and that held last evening, in Dixieland, despite the bad weather, was one of the most pleasant yet held. The committee were untiring in their efforts' to make the dance a success, and it was largely due to their efforts that the evening proved to be such an enjoyable one. The members of the committee were:—Mr W. D. Johnston (president), Miss I. Agassis, and Messrs A. Haworth and L. JDffora (vice-presidents), Mr M, O. Anstiss (hon. secretary and treasurer), Mr C. Sanderson (assisting hon. secretary), and Mrs R. Austin, Misseß C. Powell, and D. Dickinson, Messrs R. Longstaff and J. F. Berry. . Music for the dancing was supplied by the Dixieland Orchestra. During - the evening novelties of all description were "distributed among the guests. The guests of honour were:—Dr. and Mrs Hansen, Mr and Mrs C. Goldstone. Among those present were: —Mesdames R. Austin, R. E. Henderson, T. Barnes, and E. Harvey, Misses Winnie Baunton, Jessie' McPhail, Catherine Powell, Claire Donaldson, Marjorie Laybourne, Peggy Harrison, R. Pyne, Florence Haworth, E. Tretheway, Heather Rutter,' Lyndall Robertson, Hazel Bradford. lona Wilkie, Irene Quill, Edna Lyall, U. Thompson, Phyllis Holloway, Beatrice Holloway, Ethel Davey, Pearl Davis, F. Sharman, Joan Craig, I. Agassiz, A. Gofton, Irene Lap* thorne, Carrie Westwood, M. Blyth, Jessie Dunbier, Phyllis Coombs, Violet Kay, May Ritchie, Dorothy Dickinson, Gladys Austad, I. Scott, Cecily Peck, A. Devereux, Lois Forscutt, and Dorothy Adams.
