SERIOUS CRIME ALLEGED.

(PBBS3 ASSOCIATION TEWORAH.) DARGAVILLE, April 23. At the Police Court to-day, before Messrs F. A. Jones and P. J. Dargavillc, J.P.'s, Jako Shadondich, a Dalmatian storekeeper, of Aratapu, was charged with rape and attempted rape on a married woman of the settlement, also a Dalmatian. After lengthy evidence had been heard, accused pleaded not guilty, reserved his defence, and was committed for trial at the next sitting of the Auckland Supreme Court.
