FIRES.
RESIDENCE DESTROYED. (press association teleobam;) NEW PLYMOUTH, April 14. A six-roomed house in Smart road/' owned and occupied by Mr R. J. Daisley, was destroyed by fire yesterday. Tho insurances are £BOO on the house and £3OO on the furniture. . BLAZE AT TAURANGA. (I'EESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) TAURANGA April 14, Fire at one o'clock this morning completely gutted business premises 1 owned and occupied by G. Maltby, solicitor, and' E. T. Baker, estate and commisison agent. The fire was discovered by a nightwatchman, and_ had ai good hold when the brigade arrived. They had a hard fis;ht with a heavy wind blowing. The other tenants, Cbilcott, a tailor, Stevens and Goulding, surveyors, and the Plunket rooms, all suffered considerable loss. Insurances are not available. . '
EMPORIUM DAMAGED. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.I AUCKLAND, April 15. Fire occurred in the drapery emporium of Milne and Choyce, Ltd., on Saturday night. The brigade confined the outbreak to the packing and dispatch departments. The damage done has not been estimated, but it is not believed to be extensive.
Early on Saturday morning, the Central Fire Brigade received a call to Mr A." G. Familton's coal.and firewood yard'.at 344 Cashel street, where the engine driving a saw had caught fire.
