The "Western Morning News" (Plymouth) says that bowlers in North Devon are anticipating the coming season with more than ordinary interest. The New' Zealand team will include Barnstaple in • their tour, the match being provisionally fixed for May" 7th. The visit could not come at a more appropriate time, for the Mayor, Mr J. 0. Jones, is himself a keen bowler who has filled every office in the Barnstaple Club. The teams are to be entertained, and will receive a civic welcome. The green, which is the oldest in North Devon, and has produced an English singles champion, his been relaid, and has been selected for one of the series of executive matches of the Devon Bowling Association. The Bideford Bowling Tournament Week, which was so successful last year, and brought bowlers from a wide area to the Torridge town, will again be held in August.
