VETERANS' ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the Veterans' Association of Army, Navy, and Auxiliary Forces was held in the club rooms, Oxford terrace, on Saturday evening. Mr W. W. P. Scarff presided.. The meeting paid a tribute to the memory of the late Sister E. Peters and Major W. Blakeway. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. Mr C. Oliver offered to assist the sick visitor, and also to give a trophy for billiards. His offers were gratefully accepted. It was decided to give £lO 10s to the secretary and £5 5s to the sick visitor for their valuable work for the Association. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Captain W. i\ Grenfell for his services to the veterans. A motion o£ condolence was passed to Mr 11. E. Thompson in the death of his wife. The officers were elected as follows: —Patron, his Excellency the Governor-General Sir Charles Fergusson; vice-patrons, Major-Gen-eral Young, Colonel Commandant M. M. Gard'ner, Colonel P. Clennel Fenwick, LieutenantColonel F. B. Creswell, Colonel N. W. B. B. Thorns; president, Mr W. W. P. Scarff; vicepresidents, Lieutenant C. E. Gwatkin, Messrs W. Hussey, J. K. Thompson, E. A. Knights, G. N. Cresswell, and H. Collins; hon. vicepresidents, Sisters MacMurtrie and Hiatt, Messrs E. L. Fraser and Captain W. F. Grenfell; lion, chaplain, the Rev. A. H. Norris; hon. general secretary, Mr H. W. Peryman; hon. treasuror, Mr D. Lee; executive, Messrs N. R. Joliansen, L. B. Hussey, C. Peagriin, G. F. Scott, W. L. GlanviUe, H. Wise, and A. H. Scales; Social Committee, Messrs W. Powell, E. A. Knights, C. Olliver, T. F. Rudd, A. L. Emerson, W. Greenway, R. Bums; J. H. Foster, and T. Hartley; sick visitor, Mr J. Stinnear; hon. auditors, Messrs R. R. Hill and Martin Hartigan. The chairman, at the close of the meeting, urged all to do their best for the Association. Their object was to keep together those who were comrades in the war, as they had kept together when they, were fighting for their country.
