ITALY AND RUMANIA.
♦ DIFFICULTIES CAN BE SMOOTHED OUT. (BT CABLB—fUSI Aasocuxioir— copyright.) (AUSTRALIAN AND K.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received January 27th, 9.20 p.m.) ROME, January 26. Importance is attached to the visit of M. Titulescu. He has already had two conversations with Signor Mussolini, who is most anxious to improve diplomatic relations with Rumania, which have seemed lately to be veering more and more towards Paris as the nerve centre of the Little Entente. Moreover, negotiations for a trade agreement have been long held up, as a difficulty was experienced in arranging for Italy to purchase Rumanian oil under conditions mutually satisfactory. M. Titulescu has issued a statement that he is certain all the difficulties could be smoothed out and trade parleys resumed on a more satisfactory basis with no clash of diplomatic interests.
