The family almost at once settled in Woodend, where in later years Mrs Ayers was married and continued to live at Woodend until a year ago, when she sold her home and came to Christchurch to reside with her youngest daughter, Mrs Keith Little.

The deceased lady led a very active and useful life and was an ardent worker in connexion with the Methodist Church, where her musical gifts and capabilities were appreciated always. Her health has been very delicate during the last few years. Little (sons-in-law). There were numerous beautiful floral tributes testifying to the worth and popularity of deceased, and many old friends of the family were present to pay their last respects. She carried a shower bouquet of roses to tone. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr F. J. Lennon, brother of the bridegroom. Upon the bride entering the Cathedral, the "Bridal March" was played by the organist, Mr Vallis, who also played during the Nuptial Mass. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the Strand Salon, where the usual toasts were honoured and best wishes expressed for the future happiness of the bride and bridegroom.
