New Beam Service. Madrid, January 23.—The _ TransKadio Company, with a capital of £143,000, has been formed to establish a beam service between America and Spain. International Labour Conference. Melbourne, January 24.—As the result of a ballot among the Trades and Labour Councils of Australia to select delegates to represent Australian workers at the International Labour Conference to be held at Geneva in May, the name of Mr A. Walker, of Adelaide, will be submitted to the Federal Ministry. Cholera in Indo-Ohina.
London, January 23.—1n an effort to ward off a cholera epidemic in IndoOhina, the authorities inoculated seven million people, one-third of the population, last year. Spectacular Storm.
Sydney, January 24.—Passengers in the Maunganui were enthralled for many hours last night by an amazing electrical storm, and stayed on deck from sundown until midnight watching the spectacle. Throughout the storm it was impossible for the liner to send or receive wireless messages. *
