WON BY AUCKLAND. (rSESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, January 20. The Cornwell Cup contest was coneluded to-day, resulting in Auckland retaining the trophy. Two further races were held to reach a decision. In the first race Auckland finished first 26 seconds ahead of Whangarei. The latter protested on a foul, and the protest was upheld. Auckland were disqualified, "and the race awarded to Whangarei.

The second race was very close between Auckland, Whangarei, and Canterbury. Whangarei's mainsail came u lashed from the gaff, and they retired. Auckland beat Canterbury by 52 seconds, and won the Cup.
