FRANCHISE IN BRITAIN

A SUGGESTED RESTRICTION.

(BT CABLI—MISS ASSOCTATIOX COPTKIGKT.) (AUBTBAIttS : AN» *.?. CABL» ABSOCIATIOK.)

(Received January 20th, 9.30 p.in;)

LONDON, January 20,

There is a possibility that the Government may take advantage of the drafting of the new Franchise Bill conferring votes on women of twentyone to revive the former provision under which persons in receipt of poor law relief ar6 not allowed to vote.

It is urged that the Bill will thus be rendered more agreeable to those Government supporters who are not enthusiastic about the extension of the franchise.
