sjome surprise has been occasioned in the City by the information that a motion picture operating box has been installed in the Municipal Concert Hall, although many people knew that provision was made for it in the original plans and specifications. When the hall is not required for other purposes, it will be available for motion picture entertainments, and the letting of it for such use has been discussed with Mr H. Waters, manager of Christehurch Cinemas. It was stated yesterday by the Town Clerk (Mr J. S. Neville) that no definite arrangements had yet been made with Mr Waters.

It is possible that the proposal to utilise the Concert Hall for this purpose may meet with some opposition from the musical societies, but they will always have preference over organisations interested in the promotion of other forms of entertainment,
