Dr. and .Mrs C. L. Nedwill have returned to Christchurch after a visit to Mount Sowers.
Mr and Mrs I!. K. McDougall rPapanui rorifl) are leaving this week for Brookdale, North Canterbury. Mrs H. L. Bowkcr, Miss Bowker, and Mrs Campbell Gebbic ("The Elms," Durham street north.) hare returned from a visit to Geraldine. Miss Betty Cotterill is staying with Mrs Charles Rattray at Waikouaiti. Mrs nnd Miss Elaine Wickenden and Mr George Wickenden left by the Manuka for Melbourne yesterday, and will be away, for some weeks. Mr and Mrs F. "W. Leslie and their niece. Miss Iris Gundcrsen, have left Christchurch for Auckland, where they will join the s.s. Tamnroa en route to England. Mrs Robert Lako (Fendalton) is spending a holiday in Timaru. Mrs N. H. Skinner and family (Fendalton) are spending a holiday with Mr and Mrs C. Knight, North Beach. Miss E. Burnet is spending the holidays in Auckland.
Mrs and Miss Bell (Auckland), accompanied by Miss Isa Angus, have returned from a visit to Dunedin.
Sir Alexander mid Lady Speuco (Dundee, Scotland), who are on an extended tour, spent the week-end with their neiee, Mrs C. Judson (Rangiora). Miss Price (London), Mr and Mrs E. Rutherford (Inverness), Mrs G. L. Rutherford (Connemara), Sir and Mrs T. C. Robinson (Mt. Palm), Miss 0. Hutchins (Sydney), Mr and Mrs G. W. Hayes (Dargaville) Miss E C. Sibbaid (Sydney), and Miss L. Daly (Sydney) are staying at Warner's Hotel.
_ Among the guests at the 1 United Service Hotel are Mrs Gray (England), Mrs and Miss J. S. Hiddleston (Wellington), Mr and Mrs A. C. Mitchell (Wellington), and Mr and Mrs H. H. Hart (Melbourne).
Dr. and Mrs A. F. Cowan, who have recently returned- from a trip through India, England, and America, have left for Wellington, where they intend to live in future.
Mr and Mrs A. F. Carey and Mis 3 Roma Carey have returned to Christchurch after spending the holidays in Timaru. Miss Ronta Carey .leaves Obristchurch on Thursday for Auckland, where she will join the s.s. Tamaroa eu route for . England. Mrs E. C. Batharst (Allenton) is spending the school vacation with her family at New Brighton. Mrs H, Archer (Southbrook) and her two daughters are spending , a .short l holiday oh the' West Coast, and are staying at the Albion Hotel, Greymouth.
Mr 3 E. Blair (Papanui) is vkiting the West Coast and is staying at the Albion Hotel.
Misses Doris Wright (Timaru) and Mjjra Johnslon (Balolutha) are the guestsof Mrs W. Symons, Opawa.
The Sisters of the' Order of S. Elizabeth, who have now settled into their community house at S. George's Hospital, are meeting with much kindness at the hands of the Christchurch people A request is now being made on their behalf for a _ typewriter, a sewing machine, a writing table, and an easy chair.
