Personal. Mrs T. Mahar and children have left on a holiday visit to Wangauui and New Plvmouth. Captain and Mrs Duggan, of the local Salvation Army Corps, liavo been transferred to Westport, and will bo tendered a public social to-morrow night. Captain and Mrs Ivermode, late of Kaotalti, will taku charge at Lyltelton. Harbour light Theatre. "Tho Night of Love," a United Artists' special production starring Kouald Colman and Vilma Banky, will be repeated at the Harbour Light Theatro to-night, together with a comedy and nowsreci. ' To-morrow afternoon and evening a double-featuro programme, consisting of "Soft Cushions," a comedy foaturing Douglas McLean, and "Three Miles Up," a thrilling story of pirates of the air and starring A 1 Wilson, will bo screened. The supporting programme includes a comedy and gazette. Water Supply. Due partly to the frequent heavy rains, and also to tile increased supply available, there is no likelihood of a shortage of water this summer. The scheme adopted a few months ago by tho Borough Engineer (Sir H. 11, Barnard of pumping from tho well near the Heathcote river . into tho settling tanks, instead of allowing the water to flow into tho tanks, has proved cveu more successful than anticipated, and a big increase has resulted. An additional supply well is now nearing completion.
