PLEA OF INSANITY. (BY CABLS—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received January 4th, 9.5 p.m.) LOS ANGELES, January 3. Hickman was arraigned before the Court here to-day and pleaded "Not guilty bv reason of insanity" to the charges of kidnapping and murdering Marion Parker. January 2oth was set down as the date of trial on the double indictment. The presiding Judge asked Hickman, "Do vou realise that in pleading not guilty by reason of insanity you are admitting the murder?" - Hickman replied, "Yes, your Honour."
