George Matterson, Goodsell's trainer, says that the sculler's plans to live in Vancouver may prevent his defending the title in Australia if he regains it from Barry on the Thames. The offer of Cook, tho Sydney backer, on this basis, has been sent to Goodsell, who is in the south.
